Remember this photo?

Well, Mike A. from Spawn of Mike and Mike made a comment asking for me to email the original to him so that he could enlarge it.  Even just saying that he liked the photo made me day.  I'll admit it, I like compliments.  What can I say?  I mean, why else keep a public Blog if we are going to be honest?  Anyway, I was more than willing to send it to him.  And if I never heard from him again, once more, I was just so happy with the compliment and it could have ended there.

So last week, during our onslaught of on-line Christmas presents that Fred ordered, one got buried in the stack.  Just a few days ago as Fred was moving the pile to another location, he discovered a FedEx package with my name on it.  As he handed it to me, he asked if I had ordered anything.  As soon as I saw who it was from, I ran for a knife to open it.  Inside, were two gifts.

The first was this.
The Hamsa Hand

Because my own description of this print would not do it justice, I'll let the Mikes describe it.

And of course, the 2nd package was, that's right, the bike.
Please excuse Claire's monkey face.

Mike A. took my simple picture and made it into Art.  Which is way beyond me but a piece of cake if you happen to be an Artist like Mike is.  His business is The Chaos Factory.  I'll be signing a 2nd copy and sending it back to him.  I have no idea whether he'll just keep it for enjoyment or make a million bucks off of it.  But the fact is, it's none of my business.  He did exactly what he promised to do and sent it to me with an additional gift; the Hamsa Print.

Mike, I can't thank you enough for these pictures.  Your original Hamsa print is to die for and I'm over the top happy with what you did with my photo.  I'll treasure them forever.  And since they arrived near Christmas, I'll consider them my first Christmas present.

The rest of you can just send cash.

Mike and Mike's friend, m.

Compliments to Mike & Mike, the bike looks great but the Hamsa hand is amazing, just as you are. [I know it sounds like a big feather in your a**, but it's true!]

Thanks to M&M I know the true meaning of the Hamsa Hand, so I learn from these posts too. I'll look at the fridge magnet I got from a friend differently now, and it will be in an upright possition from now on.

Pffft. Big deal. I can print photos and Fedex them to you with Hummus prints if I wanted to. I just have far better things to do, like writing this comment.

Regardless, nice one.

That is amazing. I love the photo you took too; beautiful.
The Hamsa print??? OUT OF THIS WORLD! Gorgeous.

Would you prefer cash or a check from me?

Mark,

Your praise and adulation are most gracious. Subsequently, we have decided that we will hire you as our publicist so that we can properly make a million bucks off your print. But don't worry, I promise a .5% cut of the profits after our exorbitant fee...kidding.

Thanks for the nice plug. Once I get your signed print back, I will properly frame it and make sure it's where everyone can see it. I do very much like the photo. Keep up the good work. You have a natural talent as a photographer that will only keep getting better.

Mike A.

P.S. I'll take some Naan with my Hummus please Mickey.

How kind of Mike and what a lovely gift.
As for my Christmas gift to you: would you accept a box of real Belgian chocolates? ;) Martine

Good Morning All.
Mike really did do a great job and I wish that my camera could have picked up on the vribrant colors of it.
Martine, it wasn't my intention to beg for things but if you are offering, I'd be a fool to refuse. I'll email you. That's more than kind. Thank you!
