I'm such a dumb Twit

Or should I write, Twitterer-er?

Okay, before I get into yakking about Twitter, I need to do some Blog clean-up/catch-up.  Over the past year, I received three very nice personal blogging awards from five different Bloggers.  How is that possible you may ask?  Of-course you can ask!  Don't be stupid!  Oh, I wasn't talking about you!   I was talking about all the others.  You know I love "You", and you know who "You" are, right?  Anyway, I received the Versatile Blogger Award from Jason of The Jason Show and Jim of Ocean Breezes.

the Stylist Blogger Award from Ron of Retired in Delaware

and Liebster from Kimberly of The Wyatt Zoo and Jill of Blessings of a Stay at Home Mom

I received the first and last one twice because I didn't place them on the side of my site where they should have been showcased once received.  Therefore, other fellow Bloggers honored me with these awards.  Here is the reason that I didn't add them.  I'm an Idiot.  It's true!  Technology scares the heck out of me.  I was just speaking with a group of co-workers today(Tuesday) about technology and I submitted the fact that when I started in the workplace, I was using a IBM Selectric III Typewriter.  When I got "fancy", I moved on to a Wheelwriter VI.  Yes, I was ahead of my time.  Sadly, I moved on to computers with black screens and green letters.  Then I was introduced to Wordperfect and it all when down hill after that.

An extra photo that I just had laying around.

Anyway, I enjoy writing and taking photos and blogging.  What I don't like and what I don't do is change the layout of this blog.  And the reason that I don't like it is because I'm intimidated by technology.  So most of the time when you see changes, it's because I begged Fred to make them or he doesn't like what he sees.  And that is when he looks at this site maybe once a year.  I'm just afraid that if I make a change, it will erase everything that I've ever done and therefore, I never make changes.  So long story short, I never added the above awards.  I know, that was the long version but I don't have the gift of telling a short story.  Sue me!  But as you can see, they are there now because I bit the bullet and made a change.  I'm so proud of my pathetic self!  And also, you can see the wonderful friends/bloggers who presented them to me.  Thank you all!

The inside of my brain.

As you know, ever since I changed my blog to a Dotcom, it takes several hours to show up on your Readers or Blogs one I publish it if you haven't re-saved my new site.  I was driving myself crazy with trying to resolve the issue and several of you tried to help.  Thanks! But I also went to Blogger Help for assistant from other Bloggers.  I reached out to Jessica of Four Plus An Angel who wrote back to me trying to help.  I was so grateful that I went over to visit her and while I was there, I Followed her.  By my luck, I was her 500th Follower.  I left a comment stating that and asked what do I win.  She wrote back with an offer to interview me.  Well, she did and if you saw in my last post, she interviewed me last Friday.  Also, she convinced me to join Twitter.  She's hard to resist.
I reluctantly signed up and before I knew it, I was a Twitter-er.

And because of that, Jessica's friends slowly started Following me.  It kind of feels like when John was born and I stayed home with him and the neighborhood SAHMs invited me over to hang out during the day.  I'm thrilled with all my new "friends" but I'm very careful about what I do on there.  Did you ever have a group of Moms mad at you?  It's not fun.  So I'm doing my best to "fit in".  I'm sure I'll stumble about a million times but eventually I'll find my way.  Also, I'm not sure how I'll ever keep up with them.  Should I even try or just do what I can.?  In fact, I'm on the verge of giving up Facebook because I can't keep up.  By the time I see what someone has posted, the "moment" has gone.  So please, Facebook and Twitter friends, only post at break and lunch time if you don't mind.  You'll wait for me, right?

There's beauty in everything.  You just need to know where to look.

A few weeks ago, my Blogger friend, Anke of Our Little Piece of Heaven, blogged about her finally reading the Little House on the Prairie series.  She wrote saying which ones she was reading and saying that she had to find more.  I wrote to her saying that I could send her one.  I actually had three that she hadn't read so I sent them to her.  She wrote back thanking me and I was just thrilled that I could share books with her.  Although I don't read books, I have a hard time parting with the children's books.  But I feel better if I know where they go.  Just yesterday, I received these things in the mail.
A homemade card, bar of soap and Blueberry Jam.

I was so happy to send those books to her and was thrilled when she emailed me.  When these gifts came to me, it totally made my day.  "Anke, these are beautiful gifts and what makes them even more special is that you made them.  I can't even explain how touched I am that you sent them to me.  I wasn't expecting anything at all but I'll gladly accept them.  Thank you!"

That's it!

I just wanted to put out a post thanking all of my Blogging and Twittering Friends.  Your gift of kindness is very much appreciated.
