Summer's over.
And it was one of the best Summers that we've ever had. As mentioned to you a billion times, going to the beach was lots of fun and less stressful than in previous years. My hope is that it keeps getting better as the children get older. And I don't think that we have ever seen John smile and laugh so much. Have we turned a corner with him? That would be nice.
However, the children all have friends in the neighborhood so hopefully that will encourage them to go outside and brave the elements. Really, I don't care if they stay inside but I will not have the electronics going 24/7. I just won't put up with it.
As I do every year and I shouldn't this early, I have already started to turn over the clothes from Summer to Winter. This past weekend, I found a huge container of last year's Summer clothes that I packed away for this past Summer. At this point, with the kids growing so quickly, those clothes won't make it through to next year. I could have kicked myself for not discovering them earlier. Plus, it would have saved me a ton of money. Oh well!
But I was able to hit the consignment shop and bought tons of gently used clothes for the kids. I rarely find myself inside a mall to buy new clothes for them. There's no point. Plus, have you ever seen my kids look neglected and in need of clothes? I'll answer that for you. No, you haven't.
After this post, I'll be taking a breather for a couple of weeks. These breaks are good for me and although I struggle to stay away from writing, it's what I need.
So that's it! Nothing much. Just that we had a great Summer and I really do hope that you've enjoyed the photos in the past few months. I felt like I stepped it up a bit this year. Practice makes perfect! So I keep practicing. I'm wanting a new camera and maybe I'll get one around Christmas. We'll see.
Please enjoy the video. I tried to capture the Summer the best I could. I know, these aren't your kids and you probably have better things to do with four and a half minutes. But I hope that through my writing and photos, you have grown to know the children and therefore, can relate to them somehow. Or at least enjoy the music. I would like to thank Blogger buddy, Tiger Chanter, for reminding me that this song exists.
I'll be back in a few weeks.
Your Friend, m.
